This year we are presenting our most extensive programme yet – more concerts, more partners, more performers and more featured composers. Some old, some new.

We have new partners in York Literature Festival and the National Centre for Early Music.

Old partners are the University of York’s Spring Festival of New Music and City Screen, who continue to bring us song, dance and drama as well as film!

New performers are the exceptional poet Lemn Sissay, Dr K Sextet, Cuatro Puntos, Orichalcum Brass Quintet, York Madrigal Singers, Hildur Guðnadóttir and, as a soloist, Christopher O’Gorman with Mark Hutchinson.

Returning are Ana Beard Fernández and Kate Ledger, Albany Piano Trio, Ian Pace, Late Music Ensemble and the Fitzwilliam String Quartet.

We celebrate three significant composers: Michael Finnissy (70), David Blake (80) and David Lumsdaine (85) and continue to champion new works: including Samantha Fernando, David Lancaster, Andrew Toovey, Luke Stoneham and Sadie Harrison.

And finally, thanks to all of our sponsors, but especially Terry Holmes who has supported new music for many years and has commissioned David Blake to write for the Fitzwilliams.
