As we approach the winter months, music for flute and piano traces a global journey through night to dawn.
Roxanna Panufnik and New Zealander John Elmsly took inspiration from the poetry of Dylan Thomas for their works, while Brazilian composer Lourdes Saraiva’s Night View evokes a triptych print by Utagawa Hiroshige. David Lancaster’s recent solo flute piece explores ‘the soft threshold between sound and silence’ before Ian Clarke’s acclaimed Orange Dawn depicts a rising sun in East Africa.
