Trio Atem

Nina Whiteman:Soprano
Gavin Osborn:Flutes
Alice Purton:'Cello

Fantastic Manchester-based group Trio Atem return this year to Late Music, having first caught our attentions and imaginations in the Late Music Festival 2008 "Call for Performers". Routed in the works of Lachenmann, Sciarrino and Takemitsu, the group bring a sensitive and experimental approach to contemporary music, often inviting new commissions from burgeoning composers and working within electronic and accoustic mediums.

This year they present a varied concert including five new commissions from composers in the Yorkshire and Manchester regions, including local composer Edward Caine and Leeds composer Lauren Redhead, as well as two fantastic works by established composers Kaija Saariaho (Mirrors) and Helmut Lachenmann (Pression).

This is a must see concert for all fans of cutting edge, up-to-the-minute new works by living composers.

All concerts take place at the Unitarian Chapel, St. Saviourgate, York.
