Sadie Harrison was born in Adelaide, Australia and moved to England in 1970, studying composition under Nicola Lefanu, and lecturing until 2001 at Goldsmiths College, London. Her music has been performed by some of the world's leading musicians and ensembles, being broadcast in Australia, America, Japan, Lithuania, UK and across Europe. Her work has won a number of prestigious international prizes and has been released on NMC, Sargasso, BML, Cadenza, Clarinet Classics and Metier. In 2005, Sadie commenced a degree in archaeology, reflecting her interest in past cultures and how musical study can help vivify their extraordinary artistic traditions. She is currently composing works for Peter Sheppard Skaerved, the Scottish Clarinet Quartet and the double bass virtuoso, David Heyes.
