James Else

James studied music at the University of Glasgow and King's College London, before completing a PhD in composition at the University of York with Nicola LeFanu.  In recent years he has collaborated extensively with choreographers from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance where he currently lectures, as well as having his music performed throughout the UK and Ireland.  He has a diploma in piano performance and studied contemporary piano repertoire with Aaron Shorr at the Royal Academy of Music.

James has also worked for over 10 years in the TV industry, first specialising in music composition and post-production, then expanding to work as a producer.
